Casio GGB100-1A3 Master of G Mudmaster Men's Watch

Casio is a name that really does transcend boundaries! Even those of us who don’t wear watches will likely remember the name, and it just so happens that this long-standing digital watchmaker has moved into the diving timer market, too.

That can only be a good thing, and thankfully, the Mudmaster line appears to be earning itself lots of praise from divers on the wider market.

Naturally, I wanted to take a closer look – promising a 200 m depth rating and impressive shock proofing reviews, I thought it’s best to take a closer look at whether this timepiece lives up to the hype. Keep reading for the results!

More About The Casio GG-B100-1A3 Master of H Mudmaster

This is a ‘go anywhere’ watch, designed to be extremely robust – it can cope with the most extreme conditions you expose it to. It looks tough, feels robust and can withstand pressures in arduous conditions, so that you can be confident you will have its assistance where and when you need it.

The look alone gives off a great impression – it’s part of the G-Shock line, which means you can expect a wide raft of features. The aesthetics are certainly pretty busy here, but from a brand like Casio, you can expect that the buttons and functions will all serve important purposes.

What’s more, this stylish watch is built in carbon, which means it should weather the waves a little better than most.

That’s just for starters – keep reading and I’ll break down everything else you need to know.

What are the Best Features / Main Selling Points of the Casio GG-B100-1A3 Master of H Mudmaster?

First and foremost, the protection on offer here is spectacular. It’s an amazingly shockproof watch, and the carbon core blended with stainless steel casing will really make light work of that.

This is a diving watch that’s going to take plenty of beating, and what’s more, it will also work wonders as a general activity or sports watch elsewhere. The added bonus here, of course, is the fact that the Mudmaster dives with you to a max of 200m. That’s not bad at all.

The quad-core monitoring system, that covers an altimeter as well as thermometer, compass and barometer, will really impress divers looking for access to as much data as possible.

This is more than just a run-of-the-mill diving watch that gives you a little of waterproofing. It gives you all kinds of protection and analysis down deep – and it’ll even help you if you want to ascend mountainous landscapes out of the water, too.

The auto calendar is a great addition to the watch overall – it means you’re not going to have to fumble around with updating your tech constantly.

This watch comes with a pretty hardy plastic strap, with a buckle fastener that’s impressively easy to clean and dry off whenever you want to. It’s easy to sneer at plastic straps on watches, however, they are actually preferable when it comes to diving.

Leather and fabric get very uncomfortable when you are entering the water – meaning the Mudmaster will also give you a fair amount of comfort while swimming around, too. It’s also unlikely to let moisture affect its integrity.

What are the Benefits of Using the Casio GG-B100-1A3 Master of H Mudmaster?

This is a diving watch that’s going to appeal to anyone who may have struggled with timepieces in the past that simply don’t live up to the demands of high activity. Not all diving watches are designed equally, unfortunately! The carbon core tech along with sturdy stainless steel casing make for a fierce combo, and again, don’t be put off by a plastic strap.

It’s also got an impressive array of features, though not too many to ever appear overwhelming or over the top. I’d therefore highly recommend this watch to anyone who’s just getting started in diving, and who may want to go exploring beyond the deep, too.

This is a good mid-range watch both in terms of pricing and in terms of complexity, meaning if you have found other watches a little too overwhelming, or even underwhelming, this is likely to be a fantastic compromise.

The battery on the Mudmaster should last you a few years between needing replacements, meaning that if you do want to get into diving in the long term, this is going to be a solid ally to have on side.

The Bluetooth connectivity is a massive bonus and will likely appeal to anyone who wants to transfer their data to a separate device. Not all diving watches have this specialty – which really does make it a bit of a standout compared to other similarly priced timepieces on the market.

Does the Casio GG-B100-1A3 Master of H Mudmaster Have Any Drawbacks?

The fact that this watch is battery powered, as opposed to being a solar-powered timepiece, may not appeal to all. Solar-powered watches are, of course, much more eco-friendly.

What’s more, they can be recharged at very short notice! That said, the Mudmaster’s battery will only need changing once every two years, ideally – meaning there’s not that much to be concerned about here.

The wristband seems to be a point of contention for some users, though again, I feel that a plastic strap is going to be much more useful beneath the water compared to anything else that’s going to dampen and hold a lot of water over time.

It’ll reduce skin irritation, for one thing. However, some people prefer a watch band or strap that’s going to look especially nifty – and plastic might not be the fanciest look on the board, let’s face it!

Otherwise, there are no real drawbacks here. Those who want to take their time learning about the added tech – such as the Bluetooth connectivity – won’t have to worry too much. It seems as though this watch might take a learning curve, but you will be pleasantly surprised, I assure you!

Conclusion – Should I Buy The Casio GG-B100-1A3 Master of H Mudmaster?

I really like the Mudmaster – Casio’s big brand appeal doesn’t disappoint here, and this is a midrange watch with a lot of interesting functionality as well as plenty of style.

This is a great all-in-one option that’s going to satisfy the needs of any divers who may be looking for a multipurpose timepiece that’s hardy, stylish, and incredibly secure. The Bluetooth really doesn’t hurt here, either! Take a look and see what you think.
