Royal Gourmet GB8000 Review

Royal Gourmet GB8000

Cooking for big groups on holiday or on the move isn’t always easy. You’re going to need a pretty big grilling machine to really provide that kind of convenience – which of course means you’re going to need a fair heft of power behind it all, too!

Royal Gourmet is a brand I’ve kept an eye on, and in all honesty, I’m impressed with what I’ve seen so far. Their GB8000 is an absolute monster of a family cooking machine, and the best news is, it’s perfectly easy to take with you and to set up with ease.

But – is the Royal Gourmet GB8000 really worth the money? What is it about this BBQ behemoth that’s got heads turning online?

More About The Royal Gourmet GB8000

The Royal Gourmet GB8000 is a super sized portable grill that can help satisfy the hunger of medium to large groups of people, on location, on holiday, at parties or large family gatherings.

Cooking up to 80 burgers at any one time is an absolute cinch for this grill – a truly impressive feat. As you would expect from a product this size, features are well-designed and are arranged for convenience (more about those later) – for those requiring not only a large outdoor grill, but also a portable one, this sturdy model has a strong platform and four castors for ease of movement.

The castors can be locked to ensure that once the grill is in its operating position, it won’t move about.

Of course – I’m going to dig a bit deeper into the features and benefits of this grill a bit further down, so stick around for the complete lowdown.

What are the Best Features / Main Selling Points of the Royal Gourmet GB8000?

Size absolutely matters when you need to cook for a large group of people, and thankfully, the GB8000 more than delivers. The biggest selling point of this behemoth system is the fact that it is so grandiose.

If you don’t have a large enough grill to support bigger groups at one time, you’re going to need to work to a tiered system. This means that you’ll need to cook some food before others, and it can often make things awkward.

That will prolong the amount of time needed to cook and serve everyone, which may result in frustration and a meal taking several hours to deliver! This Royal Gourmet model removes the need for tiered, or staggering cooking. You can cook all kinds of things at once!

Of course when there are fewer people to cater for, the independent burners will not necessarily all be needed or used. The grill management system can also help you reduce the grill area, but this portable cooker comes into its own when catering for larger numbers or for medium sized groups with a large appetite!

This large portable cooker can cope with all sorts of food, too. Some people may think of buying two smaller portable cookers, but they will need more space, more fuel and at least one other pair of hands! This model can cope with a large demand and is designed to be easily managed by one person.

Preparing this portable grill is simple. Once in position, casters locked, fuel in place and connected, it’s ready for ignition! Literally at your service, there is plenty of space on the side tables to organize ingredients, serving dishes, and shelves to store crockery, cutlery, drinks and more.

An organized, hands-on chef can manage all the catering from a single workstation with the GB8000’s large service area. What’s more, the dual electronic ignition system is reliable and handy for managing the independent burners. There are eight of them, after all!

There are two gas support systems here, and hooking everything up to run on propane is an absolute breeze. The drip tray, too, is a great touch – one that’s always going to make cleanup nice and easy.

What are the Benefits of Using the Royal Gourmet GB8000?

Where do you start? Of course, the size alone is likely going to appeal to anyone who struggles to cook for lots of people at once. This grill effectively takes away the need for multiple people to wait for food to effectively drip feed through to them.

A major benefit of using this particular grill lies in the fact that it’s very power economical. That means, even when you’re using it for a smaller group or smaller dinner demands, you won’t have to worry about using too much energy. It’s smart and adaptable to your needs.

The accuracy of the temperature control means that even delicate foods can be cooked in one area, whilst tougher ingredients can be managed in a different space. That’s a major boon if you’re cooking up dishes with more than a few different parts!

I must also talk a bit further about the storage – there’s absolutely tons, here. If there’s something you need to store or keep to one side, then you can rely on the GB8000 to offer you the capacity. It’s more than just a grill – the side tables make serving up really easy.

Does the Royal Gourmet GB8000 Have Any Drawbacks?

Some users have expressed a little difficulty in assembly, as reflected in their ratings. This, however, may come as a result of the sheer size and complexity of the unit.

The sheer size of the item is one of its greatest attractions but also one of its questionable features when it comes to placing it for use, storage and transportation! As you can imagine, it is quite a heavy unit, and for that reason, you’re going to need some help to hand – and plenty of space to store it, too.

The Royal Gourmet GB8000 is great for bigger families and groups of friends, who really do need space and efficiency above all else. As you may imagine, cleaning this unit down can and will take longer than your average grill. However, it’s safe to say that the drip tray comes in handy in this respect.

Otherwise, it’s a pretty safe purchase – just make sure you have plenty of space to wheel it around and into place!

Conclusion – Should I Buy The Royal Gourmet GB8000?

The Royal Gourmet GB8000 is an absolute behemoth as far as grilling is concerned. While not as portable as some smaller pick-up-and-carry models you’ll find elsewhere on Amazon, this impressively large unit pretty much solves all of those woes regarding tiered cooking, and making sure everyone is happy with the speed at which they get their food.

That said, it is impressively hefty – meaning you absolutely need to plan ahead. If room for cooking is paramount to you, I really must recommend this to you – the ease of movement, setup and cleaning alone are worth it, too! See how you get on.
